The Vimeo presets are bigger resolution (1280×720 or 1920×1080) compared to your sequence so there will be scaling. Try enabling the maximum render quality option.

Do not dynamic link into encore. Export your sequence with a MPEG-2 DVD preset and make your DVD from that.

I have the same card and it’s pretty sweet. It doesn’t work with Premiere out of the box though. You need to do the cuda hack.

I would do this too if I had the same assets. A fast motion blurry “zoom” in to the panel.

The Lenovo was one of the options I had, but I went with the HP Elitebook 8560W. I’ve been happy with it and it’s pretty fast.

DV PAL is a pretty low quality format nowadays so I don’t know what you’re expecting. Also DV PAL is specced at interlaced lower field first so it probably won’t matter whether you’ve setup it as progressive. Modern TVs can’t always deal with interlacing that well, if you have access to a proper broadcast monitor it would probably look better.

If you make a new 1080p sequence and you take the cuts there and your footage is 1080p it really doesn’t matter what the original XML thinks it is.
