I have constructed an online edit of a full length movie in Premiere CS6 that has a lot of dpx-sequences and HDV footage in it. I’ve had no problems with it. You’ll probably want a pretty fast RAID-array for the footage though.

If you download some random picture off the internet it won’t magically create transparency even if you export it with it 😉

Does your photoshop project really have transparency in the image? Because I tried to make a 24 bit PNG with transparency and it worked.

If you make 16:9 footage and you’re watching it on a 4:3 or 16:10 display it will be letterboxed.
