I have a 16GB Dell Precision T5400 Quad Core (E5405 processor)… and am thinking about picking up a Nvidia GX 660 TI card (2GB ram, DDR5) for it… would this run decently in Premiere CS 5.5?

Right now I only use it as a music-recording system, but thinking of using it for video (the video comp now I’m using is an 8GB Dell Optiplex 745, Win7 x64). The vid card on the Optiplex is a Nvidia GT 430 (I know, not the greatest card in the world, that’s why I use proxies… hell, I’ll use proxies forever, more than likely… haha. It’s not that big a deal).

    Thanks for any input!

I have the same card and it’s pretty sweet. It doesn’t work with Premiere out of the box though. You need to do the cuda hack.

Thanks! Yeah I read about it… I currently did the hack for my GT 430 card, but I’m sure it doesn’t really do ANYTHING… can’t wait to use an actual card that kicks butt.

System ok? I know it’s no i7 octo-core, but surprisingly, I’ve read a LOT of good reviews on the Xeon Quads from a few years back. I picked up this system a few months ago on a whim for only $160 (had 4GB ram, but I upgraded to 16 for only $90). I plan on installing the card this week and giving it a go…
