CS5 render output Variable frame rate?
Does anyone have an idea what could cause the render (using adobe media encoder)of footage to come up as variable frame rate? I have been rendering many programs from footage shot on the same cameras on the same day and rendered in a queue and the others show in media info as constant frame rate? The ones that have come up as variable are not uploadable to the CDN we use.

What format are you rendering and what are you using to watch those files?

Rendering to MP4 format, 720×480, 29.97 fps interlaced, using the main profile. most are fine, but I see about 12 programs out of more than 50 won’t upload. when using Media Info to check:
Won’t upload to CDN
Frame rate mode : Variable
Frame rate : 0.270 fps
Original frame rate : 29.970 fps
Minimum frame rate : 0.000 fps
Maximum frame rate : 29.970 fpsPrograms that have NO issues:
Frame rate mode : Constant
Frame rate : 29.970 fps
I haven’t seen anywhere in the media encoder where you can select a Variable framerate. What am i missing? -
Update: I did find a setting in the render queue under file>interpret footage. It will allow you to render out in a variable framerate mode(?) However I am still getting a variable framrate file even when this function is NOT checked. It is only happening in 2 of the sequences that I am trying to render out. I was able to get a constant frame rate by selecting the interpret footage and specifiying 29.97. I assume that something in the original footage is triggering this? what should I look for?

Hmmm, tough to say really. Any chance you can post a screen grab of your presets?
It might help to see what the queue is looking like. Sometimes the presets can get messed up and don’t reflect the same settings as the render queue. I don’t know about you, but i’ve seen it happen before.
It’s likely something in the original footage triggering this as you’ve said, but without a screen grab its like shooting in the dark.
