Dynamic Link to Encore not working and Export media taking way too long
Is this normal? I am a very basic user of Adobe Premier Pro CS6. I’m trying to get video from my Panasonic HC-V500M onto a DVD. The easiest way I’ve found to get it from the camcorder to my computer (Mac OS 10.8.2) is converting the format to mp4 and saving it to an SD card, then I copy it to my computer. This divides up my movie into smaller chunks, so I’m importing those into Premier Pro and putting them back together.
I recorded a show, so the entire footage is approximately an hour and a half long. I completed the project and went to create the DVD in Adobe Encore, using the Dynamic Link feature, but Encore crashes when it tries to import the timeline. So I tried rendering (Render Entire Work Area, under Sequence). Still Encore crashes.
So now I am trying to export the media to create a Quicktime movie and see if I could pull that into Encore to create the DVD. But Premiere Pro is calculating 6.5 hours to encode this hour-and-a-half of footage. That’s just crazy! Is this normal? I don’t normally do projects this long, so I’m not sure. Could this be because I only have 4 GB of RAM on my computer? Please help – there’s got to be a better way!
