You could try just changing the extension to .mov to get it to open in QT…

[JeremyG] “AJA has software downloads as well, you won’t need blackmagic codecs.”
Are you saying that the AJA codec can also read Cinewave files? That’s good to know.

Installing the Blackmagic Codec will let you read all your cinewave codec files:
https://blackmagic-design.com/downloads/codecs/Blackmagic_Codec_OSX.zip
You will have to render them to something else to play them through the AJA though. Our workflow is just to make a new 8bit Uncompressed sequence drop the Cinewave clips into the timeline and hit render. Takes a while but works like a charm.

[walter biscardi] “Not always. One network I deliver to wants Black to start at 09:58:00:00 and show start at 10:00:00:00.
You have to get either the Producer’s Guide for that network or at the very least a Master Spec Sheet.”
All the UK broadcasters stick to the 10.00.00.00 rule. If you’re interested the BBC provides a very good set of technical standard documents here:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/guidelines/dq/contents/television.shtml
and the current BBC worldwide delivery spec is here:

[walter biscardi] “You’re the only brave soul I know still running CineWave. Rock on!”
Yep! Those old cards are still a great way to keep our G4’s in use. Digitising every day like troopers! I should think we’ll finally see the back of them by the end of the year though… We’ll probably junk then for Kona LH.-Simmie

Comp 720*579 widescreen DV PAL”Your frame sizes should match for a start – if you’re working in FC at 720×576 FHA then you should be rendering from AE at 720×576 FHA. Are you rendering fields from AE? They should also match up.

Can you explain this better?-Simmie
