a client just sent me a cda audio file (yes, after i told them i would really live an aiff, or a wav, or even an mp3 or mp4) and can’t open it with FCP, iTunes, iMovie, iDVD. i did a little web surfing and see a bunch of ideas for converters to buy. what have you guys used?

    Hi
.cda is the Windows file extension for CD audio track files. According to Adobe’s documetation for Premiere 6, QuickTime Pro should convert to .aiff.
Other audio conversion programs, like Switch ( https://www.nch.com.au/components/switchmac.zip ), only list .cda conversion as being available for their Windows version.

You could try just changing the extension to .mov to get it to open in QT…
