I’m pretty sure it burns data-only blu-ray discs. That’s using the blu-ray as storage only, without the “hooks” needed for a blu-ray player to play video straight off the disk.

Personally – if you want to be solidly cross-platform like this, I’d encode to Photo JPEG at 75% It’s part of quicktime on both platforms and the quality should be good enough.

Our suites all use Kensington Expert Mouse Pro’s – basically 4 button trackballs. Keyboard shortcuts are your friend for FCP though…

The absolute quickest way is to buy a DVD recorder and run the timeline out to it in real-time.

We’re running Fibrejet as our SAN – and we’ve not seen any XDCAM software problems…

Have you tried keeping the exports the same as the sequence settings? Why do you want to convert to photo-jpeg?

Whatever you do you will notice a difference between the PAL footage and the converted NTSC. Even if it’s done at a conversion facility NTSC always looks slightly soft to me when compared with PAL. Remember – the formats have different resolutions as well as framerates:
NTSC frame size is 720×480
PAL frame size is 720×576It’s probably really subjective though… I mean 29.93 frames per second – come on! That’s just silly! 🙂

Only happens to us when we use animation codec files (which FCP always thinks are upper field first…)
Capturing to DV50 PAL works fine for us – both your sequence and clips are definately set to lower field first?
