Since you are big on film David,
Let me highly recommend “DVFILM MAKER” over at dvfilm.com
This small application is absolutely incredible at producing
excellent film motion and integrates well with vegas, so you really dont need to struggle with frame rates in vegas etc.

    Well Donna.
I can certainly tell you that the virus and formatting that occured earlier is the cause of your system being slow and unstable.
Seems that something else is still left there lingering on your hard-drive or in the registry..hard to say what.
As for using Vista…I dont, and dont think i will ever use it as a
OS for my video editing tasks..period…for numerous reasons.

Remove the mpeg4 and the mod segments of your project.
From years of experience with vegas, whenever issues like yours occur
i know that most of the time its whats on the timeline that gives vegas these headaches.
Whatever file format that doesnt sits well with vegas dont place
them on its timeline…first convert it to a format that vegas understands, before you start editing.

The problem i can almost guarantee you is with the audio settings
on that other computer its playing on or its sound card quality,
    even the speaker it uses.

Surprisingly, i use “super”…yes, this application is free and would
at first glance seem like a gismo for amateurs, not professionals…
It certainly produces excellent professional output.Whatever Vegas
cannot handle, SUPER is what i call upon, including producing
excellent flash formats. You can customise your format of choice output in great detail. This app. is even better than similar tools you would pay for, Trust me.
