No the active take info cannot be rendered into the final output…
Why not render text with a transparent background in a corner of each video file to make them identifiable…if thats what you are looking for.

I do concur with Douglas and Ron,
I myself reviewed Edius extensively and come to the conclusion that
indeed it is unique from other NLE’s and I love the interface…but it
is not a fully-featured editing software as Douglas mentioned.

An example on an impressive note…I Just completed a project for a company that involved 3d tracking into a 3d room environment with the walls created from low resolution image textures with camera walk thru
while rotating, finish off with motion blur and depth-of-field….NOW, tell me, wouldn’t you think something like that can only be done in
a compositing application like after effects or combustion…no, i did it all effortlessly in sony vegas.
Just a small bit of info on how fully featured vegas is and to some extent, only limited by the user.

If its a vegas file, double check and make sure that you have not relocated or deleted none of the source file you used in the project.

If opening the file or clicking on the file still falters…try just importing the file like you would any other video file, downside to
this is that you will just have all the files combined on the timeline
and cannot re-edit the layers individually.

If you playback the video in vegas in mp4 format with a measly
500mb of memory on a laptop…you definately will encounter this.
the resources of your laptop is not powerfull enough to provide
real-time playback, “especially it seems you are editing HDV, which
requires even more resources to edit effectively in real-time.

However your rendered projects will not be jittery..its just the limitation of your laptop during playback.
