    Remember Liz,
WMP is a media player…sony vegas is a editing tool and unless you
have a very powerful pc (which you dont)you wont get your video
    playing back smoothly in vegas.
Hence you will get stuttering in your preview window…
absolutely nothing is wrong with that, it wont affect your video
    when you render it.
And as for other media players…not all handles mp4’s playback well.
So enjoy your editing and dont worry.

Sorry about your problem Trey, but relax…Vegas Pro does not have
any serious issues, something is a little bit off with your system.
Tell you what, just uninstall vegas pro…clean-up your system and
    the registry….then re-install it.

If you had given more info i could be more specific of the problem,
….but just do this for now and let us know if this works.

A question David that almost all professional editors strive for at some point..how to get video looking like film.
A topic thats discussed extensively with numerous recommendations.
    My two scents
I understand exactly what you described…it took me a long while
and endless research to really find a solution to this. First off
it is a two step process…first your footage need to be colour
graded to have that film tone you desire,(my recommendation for this
are two plugins, magic bullet for editors or celluloid from vasst).
Secondly, is to achieve film motion thru a process of deinterlacing.
(and for this i recommend dvfilm maker) a standalone application thats
very simple an hits the mark perfectly and very affordable.

Yes you can incorporate several plugins as Allen said,
but let me recommend “Particle Illusion”.

An incredibly powerful visual effects tool thats easy to learn and
offer endless amount of professional effects thats time consuming
to acquire from any other source.

    Trust me Adam,
It is all possible…Remember, vegas does not have 3d camera tracking,
but you can easily create this illusion convincingly along with other numerous tricks right there in vegas using your 3D Source Alpha in
    track motion.(trust me you can).
I use velvetmatter for depth-of-field, walk-thru illusion created
using the z axis individually on each (5) image texture that is
rotated and positioned individually to form a room…and keyframing over time each wall during the walk thru to give another illusion
of camera movement while moving forward with a sprinkling of motion blur set at 5% using the video bus track.
Hope my explained method is a little clearer….I use only Combustion
but only find myself opening it up for when i really need intensive shots.

June 4, 2008 at 2:54 am in reply to: Muzzle flash – rendering

Either you have keyed out too much of the muzzle flashes itself or
the muzzle flash itself was too short/sudden to be properly seen.
Go over again to make sure and also try slowing down the muzzle flash
by holding down the ctrl key while you drag the edge to a distance.
