You just need to click on the little box on the end of each of
the pictures on the timeline, to open the “event pan crop” window
and you right click on the image and select “match output aspect”
and do your adjustment by moving the box. Done.

I understand your views perfectly Rich,
But for me personally, i have not really experienced any major
errors or gaps using super….I however has always experience conflicts and errors using the major standalone compressors..especially
    from mainconcept etc.
Because of past expereinces i have never really considered buying sorenson squeeze.

  • The mainconcept mpg2 codec that comes in Vegas outputs the best pristine quality and integration there is.

    Yes i recommended “SUPER”.
You can however tweak the settings and adjust the bit rate to
achieve excellent results (trust me)…take the time and run several tweaks.

That is correct, it is a codec compatibility issue whenever vegas
starts behaving that way pertaining to imported media.

    Rick and Michael,
Those two companies are a joke..in the age where a free
flowing customer support is key…they have adopted the opposite.
I hear unending complaints about them….dont know why some companies still chooses to be so rigid on their customers.

    Thanks
i have deliberately avoided adding anything from boris to my
vegas workflow some years back because of a long ago bad experience,
and never gave it a thought since then until now.

I must admit…i have just installed boris red and took it for a spin…and iam pleased with its interface and integration with vegas, although it could be much better. Stability is my greatest concern, but so far it seems quite stable (something it was not a few years back).
You all have good things to say about it….the trial is quite
pleasing… i will be purchasing it..Still,the $995 is a bit steep, although they have it for sale now for $795.But,it is an investment.
I like staying in vegas to get things done, than have to open another app. for a certain effect.

    Thanks Guys….

    Sorry John,
I dont think sony will ever enhance Vegas API and other features
to facilitate certain plugins…a lot of us has been lobbying this for years now with no changes or enhancements being made.
    Anyway..does boris crashes vegas occasionally?

June 27, 2008 at 7:53 pm in reply to: Is there any way to chroma key black in Vegas?

Simply treat the black as you would a green screen..first apply the
‘pure green screen’ preset from the chroma keyer…then use the color dropper on the left to draw a small square over the color you want keyed out..then fine tune using the threshold and blur sliders.
And further finetuning can be done by applying the chroma blur.

For best effect apply the chroma keyer to the track panel to the left
and when done…apply the chroma blur directly on the event…tweak until you get your desired look.
