Yeah…very weird,
But glad you got that sorted. Don’t know what 8.1 64bit
is doing. I have it but i don’t use it in my primary workflow,
primarily because of little unknowns like what you just experience.

You just need to go in Preferences and uncheck
“Enable HDV scene detection”.

.m2t is the raw HDV file format recorded to tape. So when captured
you get the .m2t extension.

No,No…..something is definitely off right there. Your
final output should not look like that any at all.
The aspect ratio is incorrect…but am puzzled as to what
you are doing wrong.

Does it also look squished when you open it in quicktime
from the desktop?

Well..You have their testing one of the best and very fast
stabilization plugin available for vegas.
There is another one available within BorisFX plugins,
but i have never tried it….what i have tried and is
impressed with is of course “prodad mercalli”.

Regarding the error…uninstall it–restart your pc–reinstall
it and try again.

My favorite quicktime format for those tasks is to render using
“Photo-jpeg with quality setting at 95%“..Which is what i recommend.
But the wise thing to do is just ask them at the tv station what
format they want it delivered in….Vegas can output them all.

Told you….
But i’m not understanding your question…i can say the tracks
are clearly numbered on each timeline in vegas and also in
accordance with the davitools windows.

As an extra tit bit you can also have the name of each video file
visible on them in the timeline by initiating the “active take”
feature by going to “view” and tick “active take information”
