I just bought vegas pro 8 (c), and have been doing some experimenting with the wideowall from davitools:

I`m trying to use your videowall, but I the only result is that the first track will be cropped on top and bottom.. Nothing else happens.. I`ve added two channels and as default both of the channels refers to track 1.. I have to change the second channel to track 3.. Then I apply videowall, and the cropping appears.. Hmmm.. I also tried the presets, but that will only refer to track 1.. I can`t change it.. I really can`t figure out how to choose event either.. I`m probably just a newbie spinning around with no direction at all, but I hope I can understand this soon (-:

Can someone please explain step by step how to it.. ?

    HA-HA Morty,
You got your Pro version….now you are fully set.
Don’t have vegas in front of me now, but don’t perplex yourself
over davitools plugin, in no time, actually by tomorrow midday
you will figure it out in its entirety. But remember you need
to have the events occupying the timelines before you initialize
    this plugin.

I figured it out (-: Just like you told me steve. But do I really have to count to find the track event number, or is it an easier way?

    Told you….
But i’m not understanding your question…i can say the tracks
are clearly numbered on each timeline in vegas and also in
    accordance with the davitools windows.

As an extra tit bit you can also have the name of each video file
visible on them in the timeline by initiating the “active take”
feature by going to “view” and tick “active take information”

Yeah, the track number isn`t really a problem.. I understood it like if you have a project with alot of things going on, and you want to use the davitools, you have to now which eventnumber you`re adding it to.. If you want to use it early in you project it`s not a big problem, but if you want to use it on your, lets say, hundred event on the timeline, it`s a bigger problem… Or am I totally off the target here? Just wonder how to see which number a clip has on the timeline.. It`s working for me now, so I`m not frustrated anymore, just want to see if there is an easier way than counting

    Hi Morty,

The Video Wall has two ways of applying the channels to your video events. The setting ‘Create channel for each Event’ on the settings tab determines which method is used. When this option is checked it will create an effect for each event.
It will do that in order of the events. So if you have two video events on track 1 and one on track 3 and you add three channels it will attach the first channel to video event 1 on track 1, the second on event 2 on track 1 and the third on even 1 on track 3.

If you want the effect to be applied to the whole track (so to all of the events on the track), uncheck ‘Create channel for each Event’ on the settings tab.

    HTH,

    David
