Seems you are capturing your content in type-1 AVI.
ok..for the time being, grab this free little capture utility
called “WinDV”(I use this almost all the time to capture my DV media)

You will also hardly ever get a drop frame from this little wonder.
Under the capture tab…press config and select type-2 AVI.
“Discontinuity at 0″…..”Max AVI size at 1000000″….
and “Every N-th frame at 1″…OK.
Then begin your capture and tell me what is your outcome?
