Vegas 8 Capture Import Audio troubles
Ok… So I have two tapes that I filmed in 24p on the DVX-100A, I then used a regular DV camcorder to use as a deck and started the capture program within Vegas 8 (Which is 6.0).
Everything captured fine (Besides some dropped frames but I don’t see anything wrong with the video), it plays fine and sounds fine in the preview.
The problem is that when I open it in Vegas or any other application I get perfect video but absolutely no sound. Nothing even registers in the timeline as sound.
Anyone have any idea how to fix this? Because right now my only work around is to record the audio using audacity while playing the clip in the Capture Preview viewer.

First, make sure that when sony video capture is up, Go to
options, then to preferences, click on the capture tab and
make sure “capture audio” is ticked.Steve Rhoden

Yes it was most definitely clicked, it plays sound in the preview but only within the capture program. Everywhere else it does not. I have since captured the audio with Audacity, however I’d like to know how to remedy this so I can use Vegas to capture video in the future.

Seems you are capturing your content in type-1 AVI.
ok..for the time being, grab this free little capture utility
called “WinDV”(I use this almost all the time to capture my DV media)

You will also hardly ever get a drop frame from this little wonder.Under the capture tab…press config and select type-2 AVI.
“Discontinuity at 0″…..”Max AVI size at 1000000″….
and “Every N-th frame at 1″…OK.
Then begin your capture and tell me what is your outcome?Steve Rhoden

Thanks, that program transfers over perfectly. Any idea why Vegas would give me that problem?

I am not entirely sure why you get that particular
problem during capture using vegas. But don’t sweat
it…you have WinDV as another option or as backup.Steve Rhoden
