I bought a little point and shoot Canon 590IS digital camera which also happens to be able to take video. It renders in AVI format and it looks funny on Vegas because the picture looks like a perfect square, not rectangular. Anyways, when I try to make DVD the picture is black but the sound is still there. I tried doing a search on these forums for the answer. I tried rendering in MPEG2 which only made the picture, so then I rendered the sound separately in mp3 format. I drag and dropped the MPEG file onto DVD Architect and I was able to import it but I lost the ability to make chapter markers. Does anyone have any idea what to do?

You need a MJPEG codec for your videos to show and work properly
within vegas when using digital cameras with video…You can try:

Mr Rhoden, is it easy to install the codec after I download it? I don’t understand why sometimes I can see the video and sometimes I can’t. If I need the codec for it to work in Vegas how come sometimes I can still see it?

Try installing the trial first and see if you see your clips
all round…and if things improve first.
There will be no complex issues installing
any of the two codecs i recommended.
