I am pretty sure that we won’t see CS4 for quite a while. I am still expecting another dot release for CS3.
If I were to guess, I would say we are at least six months from CS4, if not a lot longer.
I have no hard knowledge on this topic, but I am a pretty good guesser when it comes to such things.

Your software was designed before Vista was released. It is not in any way Vista compatible. Not only that, but video people find that Vista may be missing drivers they are used to having. I would stick with XP if I were you.

Try deleting your Preview/Cache files while the project is not open. Open the project and see if the audio is conformed again and the waveform reappears.

Quicktime requires that you use square pixels. What frame size are you exporting to Quicktime?

Start by working with the Levels effect. It will get more grain in the footage, but there is no other way to really deal with the issue other than to make the adjustments.

I would call them. I imagine that upgrading from an earlier Win version to a Mac version would be allowed.
You might have been better off buying the Mac version with an academic license. Too late now, but it might have been cheaper than upgrading.
People say you can’t use the academic version for professional use. That is incorrect. If you bought it while a student, you may continue to use it as a Pro.
They hooked you in as a student in order to get future upgrades. Not to prevent you from making money with it.

I suggest using Windows Media on a data DVD for such things. You may want to check with your clients as to the size/resolution of their PC monitors. Exporting to 1920X1080 is often a waste of bandwidth when 1280X720 is all the more their monitors can handle. For example, I run two monitors at 1280X1024 each, so a 1280 video makes the most sense. And you get better quality at the same data rate due to the smaller frame.
Or, maybe use Flash or Quicktime. In anycase, unless your clients have a Blu-Ray DVD player, what is the point in using a Blu-Ray compatible format?

Both of those frame sizes are non-standard as far as video goes. So choose the one you like the results for.

You probably accidentally created the clips at a smaller frame size. Select the clip in the Project Panel and see what the properties are of the “good” vs the “bad” clips.
