Upgrade from Ed Win to fill Mac?
Hi guys and gals. I have just finished school and was working with the academic version of Adobe Production Studio on a windows machine.
My question is: Now that I am in paid employment I want to switch to a Mac. Will an upgrade (or crossgrade) allow me to go from an Educational Win version to a full Mac license?
I have a feeling the news will be bad but wondering if anybody can help me with confidence or maybe point in the right direction for help.

You’ll have to argue that one with Adobe, good luck, you never know…

I would call them. I imagine that upgrading from an earlier Win version to a Mac version would be allowed.
You might have been better off buying the Mac version with an academic license. Too late now, but it might have been cheaper than upgrading.
People say you can’t use the academic version for professional use. That is incorrect. If you bought it while a student, you may continue to use it as a Pro.
They hooked you in as a student in order to get future upgrades. Not to prevent you from making money with it.

I think that Academic use belief comes from Avid which states that you can’t use it for Comercial purposes.

Wow wasn’t expecting that third sentence. I would have looked more closely into it at the time.
There isn’t a lot of information out there or it is contradictory re licensing, which is disappointing. I have emailed Adobe and am waiting to hear back. Thanks for your time Steven.
