I am pretty sure that we won’t see CS4 for quite a while. I am still expecting another dot release for CS3.

If I were to guess, I would say we are at least six months from CS4, if not a lot longer.

I have no hard knowledge on this topic, but I am a pretty good guesser when it comes to such things.

I should hope they fix alot of the UI problems and lost TC issues in at lease a 3.5. I remember that besides PPro2 they’ve always had a .5 version and in PPro1 they had the 1.5 then the 1.5.1. Version 2 was so solid they didn’t need to worry about a .5 upgrade. I really trust your “good guesser” gut (you know stuff the rest of us would like to know when it comes to adobe and PPro – i’ve been following you for years)
    😉
I’m pulling together a list of things PProCS3 must fix for a 3.5 release before they even consider a CS4. Would help on this Steve?

CS4? Just installed CC3 and experimenting with it.
Was working with P Pro and I thought I didn’t need anything else (LOL)Having fun with time remapping and few others goodies.
What I’m needing is more Xsition effects but this can come from third party co.
Practically I do what I want with PP2…

Oo, personally, there are a few things I would like to see in CS4:
    1. Keying improvements (I know you should do that in AE, but for a poor man like me, I can not afford AE).
    2. Improve capability to edit some sounds and add more sound effects.
    3. deshaker
    4. ability to use flash files (import)
    5. faster encoding, especially for H.264.

Suggestions for CS4 in no particular order:

    -some kind of intermediate codec
    -better memory management
-better utilization of GPU, more realtime power (see Edius!)
    -HDV preview and split scene
-ability to select clips on timeline with keyboard
-auto clean-up of Bins for god’s sake!
-sorting bins in thumbnail mode (like in Windows Explorer…)
-blending modes for layers (like FCP)
-better workflow for CC (like Avid)

    What do you think?

Id like to see the ability to apply transistions to multiple clips and the ability to have Premiere automaticlly add handles when you drop in a dissolve (user selectable).

Ability to remove effects from multiple clips on timeline (like in FCP) would be greatly appreciated.

If that`s real (and not an elaborate hoax), it would be wonderful. The pics make sense, UI is a lot like recent Adobe UIs (Adobe Media player, AIR apps or Elements apps). Looking forward.
