I am currently running a quadcore processor, 2gb ram – fair spec machine with Windows XP professional. I am thinking of upgrading to Vista Ultimate but wanted to ask the question before I did about Adobe apps. I use Premiere Pro 2, After Effects 7 Pro, Encore, Photoshop CS2 and Audition – main apps are AE and Premiere.

My question is should I stick with XP or move to vista and a brief reason would be helpful.

    Thanks for your advice

hi there richard. I’m using vista ultimate 32bit at the moment, and as an OS, its VERY ram intensive. I’m currently running a quad at 3ghz, 4gigram and its working just fine (and i’d think that your rig would handle it fine too).

Sorry I don’t want to comit anymore than that because I know there are a lot of people here with FAR more experiance than I so they will have a better answer, but I’m happy with vista 32bit.

Your software was designed before Vista was released. It is not in any way Vista compatible. Not only that, but video people find that Vista may be missing drivers they are used to having. I would stick with XP if I were you.
