Well, at least it’s not just my machine, although this isn’t the kind of misery that loves company. Sure wish there was an answer to this because Vegas crashed on me repeatedly today with this weird issue.

I’ve griped about this before, but Sony support has been uber-crappy for me ever since they bought Sonic Foundry. I can send in a ticket but typically they respond in 2-3 weeks with something like “restart your machine and see if it works then.” Of course this accomplishes nothing and it’s another 2-3 weeks for them to respond again. Ugh.

Any idea how to link the ends of the stroke to each object so that it appears to be the bungee cord? That’s the conundrum I can’t get my head around. I’ve been trying pick whipping things together but haven’t found the combination that works.

    Thanks again.

March 25, 2013 at 9:42 pm in reply to: Another mp4/MOV crash issue

Yes, it loads and plays until it hits that particular file. For now the workaround is to convert the file in Media Encoder so that Vegas will stop crashing. Would be nice to know why this started happening all the sudden though.

Ok, took a quick break and realized how easy this is to do. Precomped all the photos, drop the comp into the main comp, enabled time remapping, adjust keyframes with graph editor. Sweet and easy.

February 27, 2013 at 4:22 pm in reply to: AE won’t create RAM preview or render a file

Thanks for the replies everyone. I did discover what seemed to be the issue. In the preferences settings, somehow the audio had switched back to After Effects WDM Sound. When I switched this back to the ASIO drivers for my M-Audio device, AE immediately started working correctly again. I’m assuming that AE was trying to spool up the audio for previews or rendering and this setting caused it to stop? Anyway, hopefully this was the only issue since it now works. If something else happens, I’ll be back!

    Thanks again.

Ok, thanks guys, I’ll bring this to IT. The ironic thing is the only software I’ve installed since before Christmas is DVDA 6. I realized that I’d upgraded to Vegas 12 but had not grabbed the latest DVDA, so downloaded the new version a week or so ago. Strange.

I didn’t but the IT department might have done something. Will check it out. Thanks for the advice.
