Vegas 12 crashing…again
Posted by Steven J casey on January 7, 2013 at 9:47 pmCame in today, working on a short edit, Vegas is now crashing about 5 seconds into every render attempt. There are no crazy effects going on, just an P2 MXF file, a lower third, interview audio and one track of music. I put a color curve adjustment on the track and compressed the audio a bit.
I don’t even know where to start this time. Any ideas where I should check?
thx

January 8, 2013 at 2:08 amThe module looks like it is from the Windows Media Player. Was there an update recently on your system? That would explain why reinstalling Sony Vegas did not resolve the problem. Do you have a system restore point to try?

January 8, 2013 at 4:48 am“Unmanaged Exception” almost always means a driver error. Have you installed any new hardware or updated drivers recently?

September 8, 2014 at 7:53 amThe problem is due to a bug in the microsoft dll which, in one place (at offset 0x17C6), loads an address with a 32-bit instruction instead of with the 64-bit version.
This leads to errors if the address (actually on the stack) is not in the low 4 GB.
