    “Playback where?”
    On the Vegas timeline.

“If you never use Shift-B to preview a selection, then set it to 1024”
My initial setting was at 2000 while Vegas tells me I have over 32000 available. I changed it to 0 based on my searches through other posts on these boards, but of course this had no effect.

Just removed unused media but this had no effect. There are no nested projects and the resource monitor window is empty when this happens. I’m using a separate media drive that contains only the footage for this project and both this drive and my OS drive have over 200GB of free space.

    I’m at a loss.

Hi Angelo, I saw your earlier post as well so I know you feel the same pain. I already tried copying/pasting into a new project and nothing changed. Also, I have absolutely no plugins on the tracks, so this should be minimal impact on processing power.

I also know the frustration of Sony support. My experience has been to wait 3-4 weeks for them to respond with “try restarting your computer.” Seriously, that was the extent of their advice. Another time they literally never responded.

  • Why would you assume my name indicates native English speaking? Your name is as Anglo-American as they come, but I didn’t make any assumptions based on that. By nature of your original question, I attempted to offer assistance by first suggesting the easiest of solutions. I don’t come to this board often, but perceived at the time I saw your post, along with the previous post having nothing to do with Vegas but rather your perception of what format to avoid, that the simplest answer was likely what you needed. Apologies for my error.

I hope next time someone offers you assistance you don’t act like a d**k.

  • The first thing I’d check is the timeline in DVDA. Make sure at the end of your file you don’t have it cutting off. You’ll know by the shaded portion. Just drag it out to the end of your file if this is the case.

So if Graham is correct in that this bug has been reported, how long before Sony gets it fixed? I guess that’s the remaining question. Hopefully their programmers will do better than their help desk.

John, I use that same FW410 model. I just checked my driver preferences and see nothing out of the ordinary. However, another thing that pops up every now and then is the unsupported file type. If I go into the M-Audio control panel and toggle the sample rate back and forth it then works. This used to never happen.
