  • Since it’s open source, the only way is using a free convertor online.

I’ve never used this, but it’s worth a try:

After you have offloaded the P2 cards to (2) external drives, you then Log and Transfer from one of your hard drives.

  • You need to invest in ShotPut Pro from imagine products to offload your P2 cards to an external hard drive.

The original was shot on DVCAM (720×480). If edited in DV, export a QT Movie, drag that file into Compressor and choose a ProRes preset. Do not change any dimensions. The file size will be significantly larger than the DV file.

Use an FCP friendly codec to edit video. Long GOP footage (HDV) or h.264 can slow a computer down to a crawl.

Current P2 drivers are very solid with current Mac OS When mini P2 delivers, I am sure there will be support. What is even better than AVC-Intra is AVC-Ultra. You will get that future proof if you moved to the HPX-600.

Give them a DV-Pal QT. They will handle the rest. The switcher they are using will rescale it for the projectors.

No need for you to do this. What you need to do is archive the original P2 assets on a hard drive. Upresing is not going to give you better quality.
