After I have formatted my 1TB Buffalo External Hard Drive (Thunderbold) using the Panasonic HPX255P
camera (P2 files) using the camera as per instructions to do the formatting, then offloading my P2 files on the External Hard Drive. Then connecting the external hard drive to my MacBookPro, FCPX DOES NOT recognize the external hard drive because it is formatted to PC and the Mac needs the external hard drive to be converted to Mac.

What would I need to do to handle the conversion from a PC formatted external hard drive going to a Mac so the files can be offloaded from the drive to the Mac?

If anyone can help this would sure be appreciated.

    Thanks / Don

If your external hard drive is formatted for NTFS, you can buy and install Paragon Software’s NFTS for Mac OSX. I’ve used it to access files on old external drives that I used before switching over to Macs from PCs. It works great, and costs only $19.95. There’s even a trial version available.

You need to invest in ShotPut Pro from imagine products to offload your P2 cards to an external hard drive.
