    Shane;

I agree with you and I always do clone my systems before I update them, but as I stated this was a fresh install of everything on a brand new Power PC G5 with Leopard and there really was no baseline to backup.

I installed 6.0 from the DVD’s I had and then knowing that my other systems had 6.0.2 and no application updates have come through for them I did the update on this system, thinking it would go to 6.0.2 as well.

I was able to find a link for QT 7.4.1 as well as FCP 6.0.2.

Would I just delete the 2 applications and the re-install from the stand alone?

I don’t think you have something amiss.

This happens to me as well. I’m not sure if it is a bug or a “Feature”.

What I have done to get around it is to shrink the image in the canvas so you see more or the outside space.

You can do this from the drop down menu in the upper left of the canvas (right next to the duration) or click on the canvas and hit Command – or Command + to enlarge.

    Hope this helps

March 5, 2008 at 9:06 pm in reply to: Using FCP ST2 for an EDL station?

Thanks for the info I did not know you could do that.
I don’t think that is the issue though, because when I import a batch list (that was exported from HD Logger) and start to do a batch capture I get a warning message that says something like….

You are about to capture non-drop frame footage into a drop frame sequence. I know both pieces of software are set properly and all our tapes are alway shot drop frame.

Plus we use a standard timeline as a template for all our projects and it is set to Drop frame.

They are D-9 and Beta Decks so it is an RS422.

We also have a Keyspan adapter and cables for the station now.

We are currently using HD Logger to do the EDL’s but are running into TC issues where the TC that is logged and the TC that us digitized is different.

I think there is something with Drop frame and non drop frame, but i nor any of the engineers we have had on consultation have been able to figure it out.

    Thanks

January 23, 2008 at 9:55 pm in reply to: How exactly to merge the files of two FCP projects.

By doing what Chris suggested, all of the media is still in the original place on the drives.

Not sure if this is what you want or not.

I move the media from 1 capture scratch folder to the other and then move the files from one browser to another, like Chris sugggested.

Then finally relink the files that were moved.

This was you don’t accidentally delete the media when you clean off that smaller project.

    You could also use Cleaner.

  • Your best hope is to try to open an AutoSave and hopefully you do not have to redo to much work.

There is an option to delete unused media.

Why would you want to delete an entire project in media manager rather then just throwing it in the trash?
