  • How exactly to merge the files of two FCP projects.

Posted by Chris Mastropaolo on January 23, 2008 at 6:37 pm

I have two FCP projects, a main project and a smaller one. I want to drag all media from the smaller project into the main project, thus eliminating the smaller project and working solely from the main. Do I drag the whole smaller project in its entirety into the capture scratch folder of the main, or should I drag each folder from the smaller project into it

    Chris,

Normally what I do is drag all the browser items from one to the other. That’s it.

    Have a wonderful day.

By doing what Chris suggested, all of the media is still in the original place on the drives.

Not sure if this is what you want or not.

I move the media from 1 capture scratch folder to the other and then move the files from one browser to another, like Chris sugggested.

Then finally relink the files that were moved.

This was you don’t accidentally delete the media when you clean off that smaller project.
