May 22, 2006 at 12:34 pm in reply to: Match Frame to Source clip

From what I can remember. when you make a freeze frame th eclip name that appears in the time line or viewer has the timecode ammended to it so if the original clip name is ” My Clip” the frezze frame would be “MyClip 3:05:15:05”

    Hope this helps

    Kelly;

Try draging the clips from the P2 card to whereever you store your media.
Once they are on your system, drag them from the “Media Storage” to the browser of Final Cut.
Final cut will take the existing file names when you import the media.

April 19, 2006 at 12:43 pm in reply to: fire wire logging via RS-422

Imagine Products makes a logging software called The Executive Producer.
It controlls decks via RS-422, RS-232 and firewire.
It will capture a thumbnail directly thru the firewire cable and with a capture card on Beta and other decks.

Take a look at it at https://www.imagineproducts.com

April 6, 2006 at 4:46 pm in reply to: Modulated wipe

    Thanks Bob.

It may have been called Avid Paint, but I haven’t worked on an Avid in years.

This was more like a wave form modulator on a scope, it was on a Sony Online suite.

    I’ll try the gradients.

    Thanks again.

    Thanks

You could also burn the uncompressed file to a double layer DVD, assuming he has a DVD player that can read a DL DVD.

    Thanks

    I’m using 5.0.4 also.

I found that it will let me do it on multiple track, but not along the same track.

So I can multiple select the edit point on track 1, 2, 4, & 7, but I can’t do 3 different points on the same track lie track 3 or 5.

    Thanks

    I’m using FCP 5 with a Kensington 2 button mouse ( I don’t think the mouse makes a difference)

If I hold Command (or Apple) and click on the edit point it will allow me to select multiple clips.

Then I can right click (control click) and add a transition or go to Effect/Transitions and choose and one that I want, but I can’t take it from the effects browser like I said before.

    Thanks

Tom thanks for the useful answer.
I read your suggestion and that will work, but upon looking into this further I found that if you command click on the transition points that you want then you can drag any transition from the effeects menu on to them and it is placed on all the selected points.

It’s not as easy as lassoing the group of them and dropping the effect on top, but it works,

    Thanks

Yes I have used the help manual.
I actually looked in there before coming here.
Maybe I missed it or looked in the wrong section, but I read the entire chapter 21 of Part III of Volume II Editing (Adding Transition) and did not find the answer to my question.

Maybe you would be nice enough to tell me at least the page # that the answer is on.

    Thanks
