I need to log a bunch of beta tapes.

I would like to be able to use my G4 laptop and be able to get a log and a thumb nail (I have FCP 4.5)

I can encode the comp video out of the 1800 through my camcorder for the thumb nail capture

But I need to get the TC from the 1800

If I can’t get the software for less than..mmm lets say $150 I

Keyspan Twin X-28 USB to serial adapter is what I use for deck control. Not sure what logging software will use this but it works peachy with FCP.

    Hope this helps-

Imagine Products makes a logging software called The Executive Producer.
It controlls decks via RS-422, RS-232 and firewire.
It will capture a thumbnail directly thru the firewire cable and with a capture card on Beta and other decks.

Take a look at it at https://www.imagineproducts.com

    Thanks
I checked it out and thought it looked good but
my boss won’t pay the $299 for the HD Log. Unfutionally HD Log is the only one that will allow me to get the video via fireire and the TC via RS 422.

Will I guss know my boss is going to have to read my sloppy handwriting

    Thanks anyways
