Can you just right click on the new Empty Audio Track and select Delate Track? Right click by where you hit the enable disable audio speaker button.

1) Yes, in PPro you can edit Natively, that is one of the big features for me and is really cool.
2) You can export out your finished edit as PreRes if you want.
If I’m going to DaVinci I do my edit in FCP. Looks like I’ll have to play around a little with PPro. What I have read is that you need to export out your whole movie and then bring it into DaVinci to work with. DaVinci has an auto detect feature that will find all of the edit points in the clip or you can bring in an EDL to tell it where the edits and dissolves are.

Programs like Color and Resolve are good at that. One option in FCP is to duplicate the clip and place it above the other. Add a mask so you only see the audience and then color correct the two clips separately.

You can increase the amount of audio tracks that will play in real time. Go to Final Cut Pro, User Preferences and then change the Real-time Audio mixing from 8 to what ever. Hope this is what you are looking for.

You can do that from the Effect Controls.
Highlight the clip in the EC and copy the effects you want.
Select clips on timeline and paste.

I new you could do that with filters but didn’t realize you could also select Motion, Opacity and Time Remapping. That is handy to know.

In timeline you can use in and outpoint as in export as well.

Yes Render, often times I’ll set a big chunk of the time line to render and in the middle of the render I’ll get asked to show a part of the video or make a change or something which will make is so I have to stop the render in mid process. I lose what ever it was working on in the middle of a clip. I would love to have the renders up to when I stop the process.

You can import multiple sequences.

Yes I can, the problem is that Premiere links to a clip in the project. For example, I’m working on a project and another editor on a different machine is working on the same project at the same time using the same clips. When I import that project file it also imports the clips that project files was using even though I’m using the same clips. I then have duplicate clips which makes it take longer to open up the project and things get confusing especially since I can no longer rely on the video usage feature which I love and always wished FCP would have.

Still not ideal but here is a cool answer from Jeff Pulera:

When I record stereo in camera, with a different mic on each channel, I just leave the audio as stereo in Premiere and use the “Fill Left” or “Fill Right” effects to choose which channel is heard, on both L and R channels. If alternating between using L and R source, I Razor cut where the switch is, and apply a short crossfade.

It is not possible in Premiere. Sounds like a great thing to make a request for, I have and you should to.

Correct, the problem is consolidating a timeline to a new codec. Avid has a feature where it will convert all of the clips in your timeline to what ever codec you want and then you can send it to FCP or DaVinci. It is easy to get things into Premiere but it isn’t easy to get it out to other programs.
