    Clip – Audio options – Breakout to mono

    This is strange. The Breakout to Mono option is grayed out saying I can’t do it for any of the clips in my timeline. Any idea on why that would be?

    Ah. If I remember correctly you can do this only to clips in the project panel that aren’t already in a sequence.

    Yes it worked, but that is really inconvenient, especially now that I have completed my edit. That is something I hope they fix in the next version.

    Still not ideal but here is a cool answer from Jeff Pulera:

    When I record stereo in camera, with a different mic on each channel, I just leave the audio as stereo in Premiere and use the “Fill Left” or “Fill Right” effects to choose which channel is heard, on both L and R channels. If alternating between using L and R source, I Razor cut where the switch is, and apply a short crossfade.
