If you want to edit HD in an underpowered PC, then look at using Proxy editing. Search Help for “Proxy”, then read “Creating Proxy Files”.

The platter speed is not as important as the Sustained Data Transfer Rate. The 2Tb Barracuda is 210 MB/s, the 3Tb drive is 210 MB/s and the 4Tb drive is 180 MB/s.
It would make for a nice backup disc.
It won’t be long and we will be seeing 6Tb helium disk drives.

The C: drive has just over 300GB of data on it.
Your C drive also has the “Documents” and “Pictures” libraries on it, which can and should be moved to a HDD if you go with an SSD for drive C.

“Could I install both cards?”
You can install as many GPU cards as your motherboard supports. As said before, Vegas will only use the one you select in preferences.
But, an anecdotal caution – don’t mix GPU brands. More specifically, don’t mix drivers. If all your GPU cards are nVidia, then you only need one copy of the nVidia driver. No opportunity for confusion.

Banding happens when video is compressed and similar colors get posterized. Compression removes some subtle color differences, so 127,127,250 and 127,127,251, ,,252, ,,253 may all be compressed to 127,127,252. Repeat this over a large area and you get banding.

GPU will help with some CODECS, notably AVCHD. There is NO GPU acceleration for MPEG or AVI.

Just to save time. I may have ten to twenty lower-thirds in a video and I personally find moving text to be an annoyance as well as time consuming.

I have been a subscriber of the “Photoshop User Magazine” for years. It was $99 per year and came with a boatload of tips, tutorials and other useful articles in their magazine.
But they have followed Adobe over the cliff. The subscription is now $25 per month or $250 per year. And they throw in more tutorials (CC of course) to make it easier to swallow.
They have backed off a bit and graciously allow existing subscribers to keep the $99 per year rate for now.

If you can live without the moving text, you can make the veg file of the lower-thirds background and put the changing text in a track above the track containing the veg file. I do this often and I just fade-in/out the text at the same time as the graphic. Here’s an example: https://vimeo.com/72795849

I don’t think SCS could survive following Adobe over the ransomeware cliff. They would certainly go without me, and I’ve been on Vegas since Version 3.
