  • Render the clip to a new track before you split it.

  • My easter eggs are fairly primitive, but I make a text-only button, and delete all the text. Position the text where you want the egg be on your menu and you’re done. You could use a mask image to come on when you select the egg, but that would take the fun out of making the viewer search for them.

Excalibur has made multicam so easy for me to edit that practically everything I shoot is multi-cam now.

Don’t forget that Vegas doesn’t care about timecode breaks and you can put practically any video or photo file on the timeline and Vegas will treat it just like any other file. Oh, I currently have eight instances of Vegas running on one computer to copy clips between projects.

First things first. Rename the VOBs to MPGs and drag them into the Vegas timeline or DVDA project window to see what you have.

It may be possible if each of the chapters on the DVD is in it’s own VOB file. I haven’t tried it, but rename the VOB files to MPG and copy them to DVDA. Preview each to see what you have and go from there.

You may need to also extract the AC3 audio file from the VOB file.

Sounds interesting – let us know if it works.

I’ve discovered a repeatable bug – It hasn’t been acknowleged or verified by anyone else, but …

If there’s any media in my “Project Media” window with a use count of zero, my renders hang. Usually at 99% forever. If I restart Vegas and click on “Remove Unused Media”, it renders without a problem.

Anyone else notice this or is it just me?

I found a problem that I can replicate that stops rendering at 99%.

If I delete media from the timeline but don’t clean up the unused media from the media manager, Vegas will hang at 99% or even 100% during render and just stay there forever.

When I restart Vegas and clean the unused media, it renders just fine.
