Drop Frame vs non-Drop Frame?
Is there a check in the box next to the “Drop frames to keep audio and video synchronized” in the WMP setup?OTOH – you are probably only the second person in at least a year admitting to running WMP.

We’ve just got our Atomos Ninja 2’s in, does VP12 support ProRes?
Vegas does not support ProRes without adding a codec. I believe that ProRes is proprietary to Apple, but my understanding is that the QuickTime codec will handle it in Vegas. You may also want to try the Avid DNxHD – a free download from Avid
Itony costs you time to try it. the Vegas demo is free and ehe codecs are free.

AGC is “Automatic Gain control”. It’s not specific to audio. You camera likely has video AGC called “Auto Level”, but it’s the same thing.

Yes you can, without any worries.Yes, but you CAN NOT go backwards. You CAN NOT open a Vegas 12 veg file on any prior version of Vegas. Save your Vegas 12 projects with a different name.

Every time I render a file, no matter how small, it crashes my computer after around 20%.
You don’t say how the crash is presented. Does the PC freeze? Does it reboot?, Do you get an error message?
I don’t think it’s a heat issue. The computer stays active all day with other programs. Can’t be a ram issue, it works fine with everything else.
Does the encode (“Render As”) fail at exactly the same point, or approximately? If it’s the same place every time, then you likely have a problem in the media.
Yes, it can be heat. Few other programs are as processor intensive as video encoding. Find “prime95” and run that for a couple of hours. It is used be overclockers to stress their CPUs. You’re not overclocking, are you?
Yes, it can be RAM. Few programs use as much system RAM as encoding video does. Find and run “memtest” overnight to test every bit of every RAM module you have installed.

Steve, every other version of Windows sucks. Win 98 was pretty good, only to be screwed up in Win 98SE. Windows ME sucked, XP saved their butt, Vista sucked even worse, Windows 7 to the rescue. And MS expects us to buy windows 8 with their history? If I owned Windows stock, I would be selling it now.

Everything on the timeline is an event – not a clip.
But Mark is correct, make your F/X adjustments in the Project Media and it will remain on every event created from that media clip. (It’s a clip in Project Media because there’s only one copy. You can have many events on the timeline from that one media clip. See the difference?)Steve Mann

If everyone on the team is running Sony Vegas, and the same Version, then all you need to exchange are the veg files. You can do that in an email attachment.

Why? Flash is a dying format.
Sony could put flash into either Vegas or DVDA, but considering how few people are still using Flash, why saddle all users with the license fee?Adobe can afford the licensing since they own Flash.
