Just like Versions 4,5,6,7,8,9,10 and 11, Vegas 12 is working well here.
I do have a minor issue with Version 11 and it is also in 12, but I am not convinced that the problem isn’t my PC. If I open a generated text, edit it and close the dialog box, then click on the Generated Media button on the event again, it will crash. If I do anything else between the two, it doesn’t crash. Edit, close, ctrl-S, edit works fine.

I’m still waiting for Sony to send my registration code. What’s up with that? Now they have bugs in the ordering process!
The vast majority of us get our key in an email minutes after buying the download version of Vegas 12. You didn’t, so there is a bug on Sony’s end?
Call CUSTOMER SERVICE with your order number and hey will fix it for you. Do not try tech support – license issues isn’t their problem.

I would just put all the short videos ans snapshots on the same track, then just use Track Motion to zoom.

I suspect the 2Gb limit is due to the card being formatted in FAT32.

It is impossible to predict filesize of an encoded format. The amount of compression depends exclusively on the content and the filesize depends entirely on the bitrate.
You can have small files or high quality – never both.

The release notes for Vegas 11 said that it was fixed, and it never happened to me in Version 12. (It did in Version 10). However, some people have said they get it in V11.
There seems to be no commonality or cause to the problem. No one can reliably reproduce the problem. It’s not repeatable or predictable, so it’s going to be pretty difficult to observe in the lab, let alone fix.

It’s a known bug. Version 11 is supposed to have fixed it and I’ve never experienced it in Version 11 myself. Here’s a possible solution from the SCS users website. (Well, not a solution but you can detect the problem before you take the time to encode your output).

Date: 7/3/2012 4:25:56 PMI’ve just placed version v1.0.34 of Timeline Tools on the web site. This include some bug fixes and a new display filter that shows only those events that have a mismatch between the Take name displayed in the event, and the media file name that was the source of the take.
This is especially useful for those of you who’ve experienced the infamous Sony Vegas Changed Media bug.

The original DV format is probably the only rendered format we have in Vegas – everything else is encoded, and except for uncompressed encoding, the process ALWAYS throws out what it thinks is redundant data. This is why subsequent encodes degrade with each generation, including the first.
