Hi just reading your post. I recently asked a similar question on here as I’ve been trying to find an answer. So far the best idea I can see is to export either an uncompressed QT or a HDV file and then encode it. Not sure if this is right, but it seems pointless to transcode to DNxHD to export a QTref, when it’s going to take up so much space and time. may as well just export the HDV file.

Have you tried changing the field options when importing it into Avid?

Do you have a webcam attatched to your computer, or a usb micrphone? If you do then they will normally conflict with your sound card.

I’m not sure if this is what you mean, but cant you just apply the “Timecode Effect” from “Illusion FX” in Avid and then export a QT movie?

Thanks guys. I didn’t think there would be, I just wanted to check, thought there maybe some form of third Party software that could be digitizing while Avid is open and running but I guess not. Thanks for the responses though,

Cant you just batch capyure all of the tapes, then when you want to import the assets, “batch import” the files, and point Avid to where they are saved?

There is a codec for this, but if you need to take a QT ref onto a machine that doesn’t have Avid installed in the future then just unselect the “Use Avid Codec” in the export settings.

Hi thanks for your reply Roy. Yes I can connect the deck going direct in by component cables, but not when I have the Digibeta deck connected by SDI. I’m sure it’ll be sorted eventially. I just wasn’t sure, because both of the inputs will be “direct” on “COM 1”, whether they would conflict with each other.

This is really wierd. I’ve got a problem with my system at home. Every time I add audio to the sequence it says “unsupported resolution”. If put it under video it plays fine, it’s as soon as I lift part of the video out to leave black it says the error message. It almost seems as though having a time line with no video is having an unsupported resolution. I have no idea why it’s done this, been working fine until today. Any ideas would be very much appreceiated. Thanks.
