does someone out there know how to include a timecode track in a quicktime (320×240) coming out of avid mc on mac? more importantly, what about coming out of xdcam ex browser as a quicktime or wmv with timecode? i’m sorry but i could not find an appropriate forum for these questions.
    thanks.

Avid can’t export a quicktime with timecode. I believe, once it’s exported, you can add a timecode track in Quicktime Pro, but as far as exporting with Avid’s timecode–no can do.

    thanks mate.
i believe on qt that you can add a timecode track from a qt that has been created on final cut pro with timecode but if the original qt movie does not have it then you’re out of luck.

    oh well.

Quicktime timecode on import and export is coming as part of the next release (not point release).

I’m not sure if this is what you mean, but cant you just apply the “Timecode Effect” from “Illusion FX” in Avid and then export a QT movie?

That would give burnt in TC. I think we are after an embedded non-visual timecode.
