Get the file converted to .3ds, .fbx, or some other format then you should be fine…

Well I would try getting rid of those widgets that you have downloaded I would run disc utility again. I would also run plutil on both your user library preference folder and your root library preference folder.
Also you should check all the things that you have recently installed or downloaded on your computer….
When you did the archive install what did you move back from your previous system folder?…

Thats what I mean move all the computers to 10.4.6 and then run AE7…. get rid of AE6.5…
And how well things run under rosetta is a matter of how complex your projects are, so whether the macbook will do better all depends on the complexity of your projects… not on the Ghz rating…

First off standardize the system that will make your life easier…
next the mac book won’t run AE7 very well since Adobe has not released intel versions of their software yet…
as to the other problems make sure that you repair disc permissions before you install.. if you have previous versions of the software get rid of them…
try that and see what happens..

My first guess would be a corrupt catalog file… and if thats the case you should stop what your doing run disk utility and verify the disk, if it say corrupt catalog then see if you can repair it, if disk util can’t then try tech tool…
If it is a corrupt catalog it is important that you don’t alter the HD, until you repair the catalog because you finish off killing your data real fast…
You might also try running Hardware Test…

Are you changing the sampling rate… ie going from 44.1khz to 48.0khz?
Since this problem is not necessarily a HardDrive problem…

Just in Cinema? for the best results I would suggest RealFlow…. or you probably could get away with either a sphere and some deformers, or a particle emitter and a sphere with some deformers, then just pay attention to the texture…

No idea, but why don’t you make both the G5 and the MacBook Pro run the same version of Final Cut, that could eliminate some problems?
