  • Raid chassis I’d say. Probably the backplane.

These things are great but always a pain when this kinda stuff starts happening.

Support is all well and good but unless you buy the complete setup from one supplier who know what they are doing they will always point you to support of that product.

I really hope you get this sorted as I know what a pain it can be.

And I would never point diskwarrior at any raid only single drives.

    Hi Peter,
Why do you save it’s unusual ?
    1x ui card
    1x gpu card
    1x sdi i/o
    1x raid hba

Surely most people would require these in a system to run Resolve?

Or did you mean something else?

    Thanks

    Simon

Haha.. nice reply.. unfortunately.. as you know.. shit fails 😉

And my time.. which I have little of.. is $$$

Servers have failed in the past… the issue was a blown gfx card..

As for costs.. time taken restoring to server – well.. actually going out and getting another or building as you don’t have a backup server! from tape..

Vs Switching all machines pointing at one IP to another and bam.. up n running..

= cheaper than loosing work + time.

I understand when your talking 500TB etc.. but when were looking at 48TB its doable..

Seriously.. you’d have ONE copy ? and a copy on tape? One! ..

I use Chronosync that syncs the servers every other hour
Plus all setups and scripts sync to dropbox every 30 mins
This is not the whole array.. its a sync per live project.

When you talk of corruption.. what have you seen? 16TB arrays? 48 ? syncing the whole thing ?
    Never had it on ours.

Never been able to run ADU on external raids.. well atto hba ones.. always chucks an error..
