Note – Hitachi Enterprise are 5 year warranty – The replacement drives you get are not brand new though.

    Hmm

    Ok downgraded to 3.7.1
    FW is at 2011 version.

Still locked up on grey screen at boot.

Held ALT and chose the 10.8 disk and boots and running fine.

Still not happy as this shouldnt be happening so gonna run off 10.6.8 till Atto get back to me.

Their building a testbed now to replicate and test.

    Will post up any updates.

Seems people with the Arcea had same.. need to leave what the OS has with it built in rather than latest and greatest :-/

  • Were still running R380’s. Great cards.

Built a new server and used a R680 though.

Both our chassis were upgraded to 16Bay 6gig SAS expanders.

The 8bay EnhanceTech running off a R380 in a suite after 4 years still running strong. Hitachi Ultrastars in all chassis.

In 16 bays I tend to run Raid6 with a hot spare.

Like what was suggested look for bad blocks and replace those if worried.

I tend to let things run their course and drive upgrade are normally for data size req ie going from 1TB to 2 or 4TB drives way before drives die.. normally need more storage every 24 months.

It’s easier to let them run their course now though as we can just buy another chassis and expand.

    Hey Bob,

Thanks for the info, I’ll give it a go. Have fwd to Matt at ATTO also.

So what FW are you currently running ? Atto driver recommends the 2011 one but I did have 2012 on.

    Cheers

Ah ok so the numbers are for GPU positions only

I was readin as if you have 2 x 16X gpus in you cant have anything else :-/

    Looking at
    Quadro600
    GTX680
    R380
    Decklink Extreme HD

Anyone tried running the non ui cards in x8 and having 2 gpu’s then on this MB ?

    Kind of

The pro diagram is confusing. Either it shows to the right you can have 3×16 cards or top to bottom 1×16 and 2×8 ?

    Thanks for the info.

My intention isn’t to skimp. I was just enquiring about options being a mainly mac shop it’s not my forte.

I may take a look at Z9PE-D8 WS but will probably go with a single gpu and p9x79pro to start.
