I’d probably use something like Chronosync
I use this for FCP autosaves folder but its set to backup not sync.
FCP autosave > dropbox/fcp_autosave that way autosaves are offsite every 15 mins.

Create a sync on machine 1 from folder A (projects db etc..) to folder B – B being the /Volumes/Dropbox/Resolve/DB

Set it to sync every 15mins or hour etc

Do the same on machine 2

Things get complicated when you want some on one but not on the other.

then you just need to start doing separate syncs per project.

Change your HBA ATTO R380 or R680 if you get a 6gig chassis.

Enhance and proavio are the same. We run the 4MS and 8MS’s and they don’t eat drives.

We also run 2x 4MS of a highpoint card with no issues.

When you say failed.. in what way? I’ve had one just die then on boot it will just shutdown the second the mac access’s it.

When you say eating drives.. you mean your looking at the logs and seeing lots of bad block? Or the drives are dying?

What drives are you using ?

I’m lost because apart from the backplane there’s pretty much sod all to these boxes
And if your running new disks… where did you get them from ? and same batch as all the others that died ?

they should NOT be eating drives every couple of months.

We nearly went for a same setup but a 16bay but had issues with getting the storage array in UK.

Please keep this updated.

Are large volumes like this in Lion no go currently ?

Price seems good on the sandbox.. though 4700 with no drives for a 12bay seems on the pricey side.

How does this work without metadata controllers? don’t see any in the spec.

Remember the maxtronic one needed MD’s.

Any idea on pricing?

XSan only. Tried it.

You have to go in finder /Network > etc.. can’t just click an already mounted afp mount.

then click add and says not correct format. Which is wrong wording… but hey.. no wormy 🙁

Thing is this is a PRO feature. So just allow AFP and add a warning about bandwidth.

With V8 I’m getting into adding same clip to another trk

Grade down with whatever you want to get the pings you want. Blur then sent to ADD or Screen if you must.

You can start getting nice diffused looks in the blacks also by negating the darks and using multiply.
