go to view, click media generators, select noise texture, select puffy clouds, you will have to tweak the settings for the disered effect, and use key frames to move the effect the way you want it too

August 24, 2009 at 4:52 pm in reply to: Vegas 9.0 has problems?

NORM, thanks for responding again, Im on windows xp 32 bit, the reason I think I want to edit in MTS is I already, within vegas converted my .MTS files to .AVI, and they didnt look the same, yes at that point the system ran smooth, but the quality of the look came down, I’ll explain, .MTS looked sharp, after conversion, .AVI not as sharp, going off of my own test only, I concluded, stick with your native file until all editing is done, render down and convert once, is this not correct thinking ? also I went to Cineform Neoscene’s site last nite and read, again maybe Im wrong but that converts your .MTS files to there Cineform .AVI maybe its a better conversion then when sony does it, all I know Is Im trying to edit In my native file, I will tommorow get the Q9650 quad processor and as much ram as I can, my mother board is an ASEUS PQ5, THANK YOU and everyone for all your HELP

what file format does your camera shoot in, on the top right of your project properties tab there is a folder that sais match properties, click that folder it will let you browse to whatever folder your clips are in, select the clip you want to use and your project will match those properties, I have a feeling its your format though, tell us what that is and someone might be able to help you, GOOD LUCK

[Norman Willis] “9.0 has problems rendering in AVCHD.”

norm shawn here again, could you explain this maybe for me, I have been tring to figure this out since friday, about using AVCHD in vegas, already bought my new camera, a Panasonic HMC 150 records in .MTS files,AVCHD, I have vegas 8.b I heared suposingly sony fixed some of the issues with editing in AVCHD, I would like to be able to edit in my native file format .MTS then render out to whatever I need at that time is that possible, in any version of vegas ? I also here people talking about M2T files, and M2TS, but all the searching I’ve done I”ve heard nothing about the format I have MTS PLEASE TELL ME THERE’S HOPE

  • thanks norm just read this post

[Norman Willis] “Just get a Q9650 CoreDuo Quad and Cineform NeoScene. Maybe $450.00. Also get more RAM. It is cheaper than a new machine.”

sounds good what operating system, with my pc, also I got to figure out what this Cineform NeoScene is, I’ve heared you talk about it in other posts, does it convert your files so you can edit faster and smoother, is there a way to use and edit my native MTS files, again my system works with them now it just doesnt run smooth

    THANK YOU

  • NORMAN, thanks for responding, yes I will just upgrade the the processor to a quad core and add more ram, unfortantly I dont know how to build systems, and reley on info to guide me the right way, I have been doing nothing but reading and trying to figure things out, at age 44, Im a 22 year audio vetern 6 years into vegas, what operating system should I go with, I curently have windows xp a 32 bit.

[Norman Willis] ” had a CoreDuo (two core) at 3.0GHz. I upgraded the chip to a Q9650 CoreDuo Quad at 3.0GHz, and everything works fine (especially with Cineform NeoScene).”

thank you again for responding, do you edit nativly in .MTS, and what is Cineform Neoscene, I was hoping to edit in my native files which for me I have the new Panasonic HMC 150 AVCHD .MTS files ,how expensive of a quad core should I look at, and finaly does any one out there edit with MTS files I”ve read a little about M2t, AND M2TS which vegas sais they support but I havent heard or read anything about vegas users using .MTS do you ?

August 24, 2009 at 1:20 am in reply to: Vegas 9 Rendering Not Working For me!

on your project properties select resolution to best direct the folders to where you want them to go

[Ray Jender] “It goes through the motions of rendering, but it happens very fast.”

this may be beacuse you have marked a tiny area which its rendering only that, if you double click on the time line it will create a marked area stretch that area to the desired length than try that

[Ray Jender] “The subsequent avi file is blank.”
how large is this blank file, that should give you a clue of how much got rendered

August 23, 2009 at 9:56 pm in reply to: Video & Audio Capture With One Click??

the capture is going to capture from one source at a time, if your concern is syncing issues you can zoom in on your audio track then slide it to the left or right, or snap it in place to sync your footage up.

August 23, 2009 at 8:50 pm in reply to: Preference/Settings file?

[Dale Spetz] “Yes, that is my question. But, do you know the names of those files?”

those are your files you would know the names of those, do you mean do I know the name of the folders they are in, they would be in your last version of vegas’s folder, in 1 of the many sub folders, the more stuff you wrote, the more plugins you installed, the more folders you will have to locate, then copy that info to your latest version then they will be there, this is how I’ve done it in the past, if there is another way I would like to know too.
