I just checked. I think these are just standard NTSF HD’s. No RAID. Is RAID 1 faster than RAID 0? On iBuyPower they show RAID 0 labeled “Security” and RAID 0 “Performance”. There doesn’t seem to be a way around it. I just need to upgrade my hard drives to RAID. Thanks for this information!

My BIOS does not have the Memory Hole feature. And I did check, all the memory I installed is showing up.

Wow. This is good to know. I’m not sure exactly what my setup is. I don’t think I have RAID 0 going on at all. I’ll find out. Thanks for the response.

Yes! Actually that is exactly what fixed my problem. I didn’t realize I could right click a clip to change those options. Someone elsewhere on this forum suggested that too. Thanks for suggesting it.

Haha! Found it. Thanks for saying what you said. I right clicked a clip that was imported and saw an option called “Interpret Footage” and chose to convert it to “D1/DV NTSC Widescreen 16:9 (1.2)”

If it were dirty heads, shouldn’t I also be able to hear things messing up when playing directly from that device? It’s perfect on the device. It’s not till after capturing into Final Cut that there is audio drop outs.
Can you give me any recommendations on decent budget friendly MiniDV player?

I just recently reformatted my computer and reinstalled CS3.
Everything in the Master Collection worked except for Premiere.
I could see on the splash that it was trying to load VST plugins
(dll files)from FL Studio. Why would it do that? That software
has nothing to do with Premiere.I ended up uninstalling Premiere,
hiding the FL Studio and VST folders
and reinstalling.Now it works.
I haven’t tried unhiding those folders yet. (fingers crossed)

I did find a work-around, but it doesn’t solve my original problem.
Work-around:
Recorded audio out (from DV device) into ProTools.
Export audio and pop it into Final Cut Pro video session.Bam! Back in business!
