Are you using Bluefish with Premiere? Does it work well? Which card.

Now I’m confused. I can’t find that deck on the Panasonic site. I thought you meant the AJ-SD93 which has the following footnote…

    “Footnotes
1 The AJ-SD93 will record the output from a nonlinear editor. Adding optional accessories will not enable insert editing capability.”

You have to go up to a AJ-SD930 to get insert editing in Pro50.

I’m pretty sure that isn’t an edit capable deck. Check Panasonic.com.

Can you buy Axio as a boardset, or are they only selling “certified” systems?

    Lyn

Is the Axio shipping yet? When does the Digisuite upgrade offer expire?

Axio is claiming 4 layers of 10bit SD plus 6 layers of graphics in real time for $7500. How does Bluefish compare price and performance wise?

    Thanks Luke

Is it the same deal with Mac? Do you have to render every file captured to the same codec as the timeline to work in realtime? So if you are working uncompressed you have to render your DV files to uncompressed?

Right but blending frames evens the flicker out because you mix adjacent frames. I haven’t been on an edit system for a while to recall exactly how it works. But it does help considerable. You might play with putting the footage down twice offset by a frame and play with the transparency of the top track.

I assume this is footage shot with an NTSC camera in the land of 50Hz power?

I’ve done a frame blend effect with Discreet edit that helps even things out if there isn’t a lot of motion in the segment. I don’t know Premiere well enough to suggest how to replicate that.

Thanks for your interest Edward. I know with a bit of sanding a square peg will fit a round hole…I’ll get back to you if I can’t find a round peg.
