    Learning more….

I acutally had to remove the BMD plugins from the premiere plug in directory to get this to work with both source and program monitor. So Adobe is really just seeing the Decklink as another VGA monitor, but it works.

I didn’t realize you can buy and download. Oh the curiosity is going to get the better of me I know it.

Look at the Premiere packaging. It looks like a dominoes setup that could topple very easily. It doesn’t elicit feelings of stability to me.

    After you…

And thanks Bill for being brave enough to push the envelope with it! We are all waiting for a report.

You might want to try this. Get into advanced display properties, click on Geforce 6600, click on performance and quality settings, click on vertical sync and untoggle application controlled and set to “on”. It seemed to help my setup. Now I only black out going in and out of display settings….oh and when my wife asks me to fix something.

Yes I have this in one suite with a 6800GT and analog VGAs. It seems like the monitors blank out when something affects sync, then they take their time locking up again. Identical suite with DVI monitors doesn’t do it.

It doesn’t happen within an application but when switching between some apps. I was going to look at NVidia’s setup and see if there is a way to change the sync control from “application” to always on and see if that fixes it. If I find a sol’n I’ll post it.

    Thanks for the info.

As others have said Premiere and Decklink 5.11 (the certified drivers) is quite solid to but not as capable as later drivers. I bought Vegas but never liked the interface for our kind of production. I cut on Discreet Edit (originally DVision) for 10 years so I found Premiere an easier transition.

Black Magic have amazing realtime abilities with 5.31…but I’m having stability problems for certain tasks with the newer drivers so we edit with 5.31 and do project management with 5.12. It may be my systems.

I’ve seen this slightly if the brightness is turned all the way down sitting in a dark room. I’ve always assumed it was the lcd backlight on the monitor.

Thanks so much for letting me know. It must be something about our setup. I’ll try an clean install on a new drive and failing that I’ll see if my dealer can loan me an Decklink “Extreme” PCI card in case it is the particular board (we use HD pro 422 and SD Plus).

Can I ask if these a 8 bit or 10 bit or DV content jobs? or a Mix.
