I guess it is PPro 2.0 that enables it seems I can monitor HDV with Decklink by

    1) Setting my Decklink monitor settings to 1080 in Windows. (righclick desktop, properties, settings, select decklink monitor, advanced, adapter, list all modes, 1920×1080, OK)
    2) Making an Adobe HDV job.
    3) In playback setting you can assign a VGA monitor for output, so I select the 1920×1080 one. (Project, project settings, general, playback settings, desktop video toggled, external device:1920×1080 8 bit bgra)

Now I can edit my 25 hours of source material, then load the final job into a decklink HD timeline for rendering and output.

It’s not as nice as a Decklink HDV job setting would be but it does the trick.

    Learning more….

I acutally had to remove the BMD plugins from the premiere plug in directory to get this to work with both source and program monitor. So Adobe is really just seeing the Decklink as another VGA monitor, but it works.
