Go to Object>Path>Outline Stroke to outline your arc in IL.
The spikeBuster could get rid of your second issue but it is best to clean your artwork so you don’t have too sharp corners or ovelapping/twisted Anchor Points.You could send me your ai file if you like to troubleshoot.
