October 8, 2005 at 7:46 pmThere are some half decent clips of smoke ready for keying at http://www.detonationfilms.com but your best bet would be to use the smoke effects in particleIllusion as you can add position keyframes from AE into it and it will react to the movement rather than being stationary. If that don’t make sense let me know and I’ll explain it better.

October 10, 2005 at 12:53 pmA very easy way is to use Particle Playground and modify the particle stream to look like smoke. You need pro version of AE for this. Search for a tutorial by clicking on the Adobe After Effects COW logo at the top of the posts and then searching for “smoke” on the tutorial listing page. You will find stuff like this very easy exampla:
