After watching Stu Maschwitz’s tutorial on Supercomp, I believe this is because Supercomp works in true HDR 32-bit floating.

I took the original file into QuickTime Pro, and was able to export to an MP4, retaining the original dimensions. Am I missing something?

    Joe,

Thanks for your input. In regards to render time, I had the same experience with Tiffen DFX. On the project I used DFX on, I worked most of a day applying and tweaking DFX. When my client saw how long it was going to take to render, he opted to remove DFX and go with FCP’s 3-Way Color Corrector to meet his deadline. I don’t think there’s a way to get around long renders when doing hefty math, but your export/re-import method in FCP7 would certainly speed it up.

    Ann/Victor,

Both suggestions most certainly helped. I very much like Adobe’s approach in using markers, better than FCP7.

More info… the media is being pushed over my client’s network. As a test, I copied the MXF file structure to the desktop and Replaced Footage in AE, green flashes gone.

Thank you very much for the posting. I’ve been pulling out what little hair I have left since “upgrading” to AJA 8.0. Looking forward to the fix.

    Hey Eric,

Unfortunately that was a few years and a few computers ago, so I no longer have the patch handy. Sorry.
